[HLP:PLOT.HLP 1 page] The "PLOT" command is used for plotting "PLT" files on the Locke computer center CALCOMP 565 plotter(an 11" plotter). The plotter is available as a "hands-on" device, and the user is expected to mount the proper pen and paper, and control the actual plot output while attending the plotter. Plot output is charged automatically at the rate of $6 per hour, with $1 minimum. The user may reserve a portion of time for using the plotter. To check the schedule, ask the operator for the sign-up sheet. Nylon pens and ball point pens are available quickly, but ink pens are complicated enough to possibly require operator assistance. Instructions for generating "plt" files may be found by typing "HELP CALCOMP". The routines described in the above references will create a plot file on your disk area called Q??S0.PLT. Following are instructions for plotting on the Locke computer plotter: 1) You must come to the computer room T271 to control your plot. You will select the pen to use (ballpoint, felt tip or liquid ink), and the type of paper desired (plain or lined). Ask the operator for help putting pens in the plotter. This is especially important for ink pens, as they require more care. 2) Then you must LOGIN on one of the computer room terminals. When you are logged in, you may use the monitor command PLOT to plot a file. There are three forms of the PLOT command: a) PLOT FILENAM.EXT This will plot a single file. b) PLOT This will then ask "FILE TO PLOT? ", to which you may respond. c) PLOT * This will plot all files with extension "PLT", asking you about each one in turn. The PLOT program will ask you some questions, and default answers are shown in square brackets. [SEE "HELP GRAPHICS" for the whole picture of Locke Computer graphics.] Questions should be addressed to Gerard Pence or the computer operator. [end of PLOT.HLP] .KJOB .
