The command: HELP Will type this message. HELP * Types the names of all currently available help-information. HELP (dont type the <>, just the name itself) Will look for and type out the information about the system feature named in . For example: HELP DIRECT will type out information on the DIRECTORY command. HELP/PRINT will produce a lineprinter copy of the given help file on NARROW forms. e.g. HELP/PRINT DIRECT HELP/COPY will make a disk copy in your area of the given help file. e.g. HELP/COPY DIRECT There is also !HUMAN! help available from 8 to 5 weekdays from the consultants and over longer hours from the operators: see HELP HUMAN .KJOB .hehlpelp 4up4u p [HLP:4UP.HLP 1 page] 4UP will create a 4-up label file suitable for printing and use with a cheshire mailing label system (one that takes a full page of labels--4 across, 11 down--and applies adhesive, then puts the labels on the material to be mailed). The program is a son of COLUMN, being a specific case and slightly modified version of that program. 4UP transforms a 1-up, or single column file into a 4 across, or 4-up, format. The order is row-wise, that is, progressing across a row then proceeding to the next row. Most cheshire systems expect 4 columns of 30 characters each with 4 character spaces between each column for a total of 132 characters/row. 4UP will do this but also allow up to 3 characters to encroach into the "blank" space in between columns--do this at your own risk tho--they may not be processed correctly by a cutting machine. You will be asked if your input file has the first column blank; a "y" response will strip off that first column when the output file is made. Your input file then can be up to 30 characters wide (or 33 if you want to run into the normally blank space); and should start with the first label--that is, there should not be a stray blank line or anything else as the first line(s) of your file. The program will ask for input and output file names and how many lines per group you want (6 or 8). A one inch label cycle is wanted, but the file can be printed at 6 lines/inch (5 lines in the label, 1 in between) or 8 lines/inch (7 lines in the label).
